I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Brandman University. I was also a former CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in San Diego, and 1st place National Student Ethics competition winner. I can work with a diverse population and personal connection matters to me. I have my own life experience having a marriage and two children that helps me connect with my clients. My clients are not only my clients but they are people. I connect with my clients through a life narrative. People experience life and I want to know how to help them navigate through what they are experiencing, listening when they need to be heard, and guiding when necessary. It’s all threaded together. It is like being mission control of an airport. Let’s find out where each person is coming from and where they are headed to reach their destination. Therapy for me is about connecting pieces together and shifting perspective. Therapy to me is about warmth and meaning and the ability to make change happen. We drive cars and sometimes they don’t work, that doesn’t mean we don’t try to fix them. So I’ll use my knowledge, and life experience to pursue my passion of helping people work through whatever it may be.
