Hello, and welcome! I'm Teresa, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), with a passion for helping individuals better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change. My journey into the mental health field began with a genuine curiosity about people, their stories, and the experiences that shape who they become. Throughout my professional career, I've had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. My experience spans community mental health, the juvenile justice system, early childhood and family services, and individual and family therapy. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the impact that relationships, trauma, family dynamics, and life circumstances can have on emotional well-being. I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, family conflict, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual's unique needs. I believe that our experiences may shape us, but they do not have to define us. Therapy offers an opportunity to develop self-awareness, challenge unhelpful patterns, strengthen relationships, and discover the strengths we may not always recognize within ourselves.
