I believe that healing can occur through building an open, realistic, and caring relationship toward our own experience of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I strive to support my clients by modeling these qualities through the relationship between myself and my client. I provide opportunities for my clients to be challenged in a compassionate and safe environment so that they may learn more about themselves and how to live their best lives. I am interested in how systems impact the individuals within them, and how individuals can grow to best navigate and affect the dynamics involved in their systems; I am also interested in how the development of identity plays deeply in this process. Through nearly a decade of practice, I have worked with both incidental and ongoing complex traumas, utilizing tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to alleviate symptoms of post-traumatic stress. I have also worked in-depth with clients to address substance use disorders and other compulsive behaviors. I am equipped to help clients through a range of difficult or overwhelming psychological states like depression, anxiety, grief, loss, anger, self-hatred, self-doubt, confusion, and uncertainty. I am equally prepared to process through the thoughts, beliefs, and convictions that exist alongside these states and often play a role in exacerbating them.
