Introduction

As the director and co-founder of Clemson Counseling Group, Thomas is eager to leverage his expertise and passion to support community members in overcoming life's challenges and achieving personal growth. When he and his partners repeatedly heard about the need for quality mental health counseling in the Clemson area, they recognized an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. They listened to stories of people struggling with stress related to school, work, and faith—and knew they had the tools to help. With Thomas’s strong ties to Clemson University and the surrounding community, launching a counseling practice in Clemson was a natural fit. Thomas is a Greenville native who is passionate about meeting people where they are in whatever circumstance or struggle they find themselves. He truly desires each person he encounters to feel valued and heard. Thomas has worked in diverse clinical settings including private practice, hospital and community mental health centers. He has extensive experience working with a variety of populations and is passionate about meeting with individuals, couples and families based on their specific needs. Thomas’s specialties include: anxiety, depression, trauma, day to day and/or job-related stress, marital and relationship challenges, young adults and college students. He also has a special interest in working with veterans, drawing on both trauma training and personal conviction to support those who have served. Thomas earned his Bachelors degree from Clemson University and his Masters in Clinical Mental Health from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, GA. Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of South Carolina and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Thomas is also EMDR trained. When he is not helping clients, Thomas enjoys time with his wife, two children and dog. They love camping and exploring the great outdoors, or simply relaxing at home together.
