Introduction

I am a licensed clinical social work psychotherapist in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island offering Telehealth sessions across these states as well as in-person appointments at my Buffalo, NY office. With over 25 years of clinical experience, I provide evidence-based care, infused with dignity and respect, that honors each person's strengths and resilience. Working with adults and adolescents (14+ years old), I provide individual psychotherapy within a holistic and integrative model of care. I received my master’s degree in social work from the State University of New York at Buffalo and am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. My approach to therapy is rooted in a respectful, collaborative relationship with a here-and-now orientation that honors your strengths and expertise. My belief is that you know yourself better than anyone, and it is you who sets the direction and determines your therapy goals. Change is a process that unfolds in stages, and wherever you are on that continuum will shape our work together, ensuring a highly individualized experience. I see therapy as a partnership—where we combine our knowledge and insights to co-create meaningful growth and healing to support both mental and physical well-being. In other words, you are not alone on this journey! I take an integrative approach to care, combining evidence-based psychotherapy with mind–body practices and drawing from Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), positive psychology, harm reduction, mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindful Self-Compassion, and acceptance-based approaches—all of which are well-established in modern psychotherapy—and informed by the principles of Lifestyle Medicine as they impact both physical and emotional health and well-being. Lifestyle Medicine is an evidence-based medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions, including such things as a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and positive social connections as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety and related spectrum disorders; ADHD; relationship challenges; adjustment to life transitions; and the stresses that may arise from social and political factors. I also work with grief and loss, including pet loss, as well as lifestyle concerns and their impact on health and wellness. In addition, I provide treatment and support for individuals dealing with alcohol or recreational substance use, and for sexuality-related concerns, including those affecting individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+. I also work with men facing concerns such as compulsive sexual behavior, erectile dysfunction (ED), or patterns of Internet pornography use that may disrupt daily life, consume excessive amounts of time, or create strain in relationships. As a trained yoga and mindfulness meditation instructor, I integrate mindfulness and psychotherapy. I earned a Plant-Based Nutrition Certification through Cornell University and am a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.
