Introduction

Hi, I'm Teddy! Thanks for considering me as part of your therapy journey. If you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or others, stuck in life, or ready for something to change, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to help you reconnect with your strengths, cultivate self-compassion, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you are. As your therapist, I am committed to creating a welcoming space for all parts of yourself. I meet clients where they are, without judgment. I provide affirming, collaborative, and person-centered care to all individuals including the LGBTQIA+, kink, neurodiverse, and disabled communities. I work with individuals healing from complex, intergenerational, and religious trauma, as well as parents and caregivers, those navigating disability and enmeshment, and men facing challenges in relationships, work, and finances. I also support couples and relationships with communication challenges, concerns around sex and intimacy, and recurring patterns of conflict. The common issues that come up in the therapy room with me are: - Addictive cycles such as pornography, internet use or work - Anxiety & depression - Attachments & relationships - Anti-oppression & social justice - Body image & dissatisfaction - Boundaries & conflict resolution - Complex childhood trauma - Couples/partners, including any relationship dynamic or structure - C-PTSD - Dysfunctional family of origin - Disability & ableism - Emotional neglect - Grief - Identity exploration - Inner child/parts work - Inner critics - Intergenerational trauma - Intellectualization & dissociation - Life transitions - Perfectionism - Parentification - People-pleasing & enmeshment - Sex & intimacy Whether you’ve had therapy before or this is your first-time seeking therapy, I am glad you are here. Healing is ongoing, courageous work and a process that cannot be rushed. In our sessions, we’ll utilize experiential and somatic modalities to address your concerns with compassion and gentleness. I know from personal experience how life changing healing can be. It would be an honor to be a part of your journey! With couples and relationships, I offer support with Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), an IFS approach to relational work. This is a powerful method to know yourSelf and your partner(s) as we explore patterns of conflict and begin the practice of speaking and listening to one another. My hope is that our time together will allow for more connection and intimacy with all partners. As a social worker, I follow the Social Work Code of Ethics and the core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. This includes promoting social changes and acknowledging systems of oppression. I am also an advocate for sexual freedom and expression for all consenting adults. Outside of my clinical work, you may find me taking walks on both sunny and rainy days, watching movies and tv shows, weight lifting, spending time with my lovely partner, supporting therapists in IFS trainings, and enjoying a cup of locally roasted coffee. I have openings for adults and couples in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia for virtual therapy. Contact me about my daytime and evening availability or schedule a free consultation call. I look forward to hearing with you! *Note: The Pincus Center is out of network (OON) with insurance. I provide monthly superbills for potential OON reimbursement. I have limited sliding spots to make mental health care more affordable and accessible for clients.
