Tiffany M. Nieves

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Goodwin University and eight years of experience in mental health nursing. My clinical background includes inpatient psychiatric care at UConn Health, Manchester Memorial Hospital, and Rockville General Hospital, where I worked with individuals experiencing a broad range of psychiatric concerns and levels of acuity. These experiences strengthened my commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized, and compassionate psychiatric care. I provide evidence-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. My areas of clinical interest include ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. As a bilingual provider, I offer services in both English and Spanish and strive to provide culturally responsive care for Spanish-speaking individuals and families. My approach is person-centered, holistic, and collaborative. I take time to understand each client’s symptoms within the context of their physical health, sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, relationships, school or work demands, environment, and overall well-being. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and able to participate actively in their care. I believe in shared decision-making and work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect their needs, goals, values, and preferences. When medication is appropriate, I carefully consider psychiatric history, previous treatment experiences, current symptoms, medical factors, and treatment goals. When clinically appropriate, I may also offer GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing as one additional tool to help inform medication discussions and personalized treatment planning. I have a special interest in ADHD assessment and treatment, including work with children, adolescents, and families. With appropriate consent, I collaborate with parents, caregivers, therapists, educators, and other healthcare professionals to promote continuity of care. I may also participate in 504 and IEP meetings when clinically indicated to help advocate for a child’s mental health and educational needs. I am committed to ongoing professional development through continuing education, clinical trainings, and professional learning opportunities. This allows me to stay informed about evolving evidence and treatment options while maintaining a strong foundation in clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. My goal is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients and families feel supported, respected, and empowered. I am committed to walking alongside them as they work toward improved mental health, greater stability, and a better quality of life.
