LMFT Graduate Student Intern, CMT, Certified Doula Supervised by BriAnne Hall LPCC#16362 Specializing in Expressive Arts, Perinatal (Prenatal/Postnatal) Therapy, Substance Use Recovery, Grief, and Trauma. Tina draws deep inspiration from nature, whether in the local redwoods, the Arcata marsh, or her ancestral Scottish hills and Virginia roots. A Humboldt County resident for 30 years, she moved to San Francisco in 1997 to join a Sufi community and study Feminist Spirituality at CIIS under teachers like Starhawk and Joanna Macy. In 1999, she supported the Luna tree sit and Earth First before spending three years training in massage and cranio sacral therapy at the Heartwood Institute. Settling in Arcata, she founded Heart of the Rose Healing Services for Women, serving the community for over 20 years as a practitioner, childbirth educator, and doula for over 100 births. To expand her practice, Tina returned to CIIS in 2022 for a five-year Marriage and Family Therapy degree specializing in Expressive Arts/Drama Therapy (EXA), and is thrilled to begin her internship at Birdsong Wellness. Her foundational belief is that safe, relational spaces incorporating nature, play, and the arts empower clients—individuals, groups, families, couples, and especially children—to access their innate capacity for growth. Equipped with a strong CIIS background in counseling, social justice, and childhood trauma, she guides clients through expressive modalities that facilitate healing and support.
