Being self-aware can be a double-edged sword. As a fellow self-aware person, I understand how it can be difficult to get the most out of therapy because of your deep understanding of yourself or where behaviors come from. With this self-awareness, it can be easy to mask as someone who has it altogether and miss out on examining blind spots you may have. Together, we will separate the intellectualizing of your emotions and learn to feel them. I have been in the field for 6 years across a variety of settings, both acute and outpatient. This has afforded me the skills to meet individuals where they are at with a warm, but firm approach. I am here to provide validation and empowerment, but also accountability and challenge you to grow. I take an eclectic approach to meet your needs with particular influences from psychodynamic, narrative, gestalt, internal family systems (parts work), somatic, and music therapy. I am a board-certified music therapist and have the skills and experience to support interventions such as song-writing, lyric analysis, improvisation, and meditation in tandem with traditional psychotherapy. Although it may sound intimidating, you do not need to be a musician to participate in these interventions. Searching for the right therapist can be discouraging and challenging, but I am proud you are taking this leap to invest in yourself. If you feel we would be a good fit, please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to discuss things further. At this time. I am only providing services virtually.
