People are doing the best they can with the tools they have, given all of the stressors they are up against. My role as a therapist is to help people learn new tools and dig deeper into their internal world to find and address barriers from within. It is also crucial to look at how we relate to the world around us, from interpersonal relationships to cultural values. I recognize and value cultural differences and strive to provide anti-racist and trauma informed care. After 10 years working in the mental health field, I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, gender/sexual identity, cross-cultural identity, and chronic illness. I am bilingual in Spanish and am an expert at working with interpreters and people who speak languages other than English. My practice provides support to children, young adults, and families managing the trauma and anxiety of our current political environment. My therapy is centered on gaining strength and security through identity work and community building.
