Introduction

Todd Byrd is a counselor, minister, and writer. After serving in church staff positions and as a pastor and chaplain, Todd pursued a new path in life as a professional counselor. His work as a counselor is focused on helping men, women, and couples deal with life’s struggles and difficulties with a particular emphasis on the unique challenges faced by men. Todd provides individual, marital and relationship counseling, counseling for men’s issues, adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, spirituality, communication, intimacy, attachment, trauma and self-esteem difficulties. In addition, he works with individuals and couples whose lives have been affected by sexual addiction and partner betrayal trauma. Todd is the founder of ReBuilding Bridges Counseling, which seeks to help those whose lives have been damaged by sexual addiction to make healthy connections with God, with others, and with themselves. As a writer, Todd seeks to integrate the concept of recovery with the Christian principle of redemption and publishes his thoughts via a blog at rebuildingbridges.wordpress.com. The great joy of Todd’s life is being husband to Deb, parent of six adult children in their blended family, and Pop Pop to a growing group of grandchildren. His therapeutic orientation is integrative with strong foundations in psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, and Jungian perspectives. He utilizes different approaches and techniques, adapted to your particular needs. All approaches are based on the principle that greater understanding and acceptance of one’s self comes from gaining understanding of one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions and making changes in each area can lead to modifying or eliminating problematic symptoms, or life patterns. Each therapy situation is unique to those who participate in it, and your therapy will be a collaborative effort resulting from what we do together. Todd holds the following professional degrees and certificates: Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, 2017 Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, 2016 Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health, December 2015 Master of Divinity, Christian Education, 1994 Bachelor of Arts, English, 1987
