Hi! My name is Tory Suehs, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years working with adults, children and families in residential and out-patient mental health. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Behavioral Science & Law with a Criminal Justice certificate from UW-Madison, and a Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from Lakeland University. I've worked with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression anger management, cognitive delays, peer difficulties, oppositional defiant disorder, sensory concerns, have experienced trauma, or have sexually reactive behaviors. I believe that everyone is unique and that it is important to have a toolbox of skills to help individuals find skills and solutions that will work for them. I've worked with adults, adolescents and families, and enjoy working with them to learn new skills, attain their goals, and be successful. I have a strengths-based, person centered approach and training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, DBT, play therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, Aggression Replacement therapy and animal-assisted therapy. I developed a therapy dog program while working in residential and have a dog, Sage, who has been a therapy dog for 10 years, working in a residential facility, out-patient clinics, and visiting libraries and schools.
