When a child or teenager is struggling, it often affects the entire family. You may notice increased anxiety, emotional outbursts, school difficulties, withdrawal, or conflict at home and wonder how to help. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where children, adolescents, parents and families feel heard, understood, and encouraged. Therapy is about working together to strengthen relationships, build coping skills, and create lasting positive change. I take a warm, collaborative, and practical approach to counseling. In sessions, I focus on helping children and teens identify their feelings, manage overwhelming emotions, improve communication, and develop healthy problem-solving skills. With parents and families, we focus on relationship building and putting skills into place that will help families with the challenges they face. My goal is for clients and families to leave sessions with tools they can use in everyday life, not just insights that stay in the therapy room. I earned a Master of Arts in Professional School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science. I am currently completing a Post-Master Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For more than six years, I have worked as a Professional School Counselor, supporting students from elementary through adolescence. My experience includes trauma-informed counseling, behavioral support planning, CBT and DBT skills training for children and adolescents, mindfulness-based practices, and collaboration with families, teachers, and behavioral health specialists. Outside the therapy room, I value learning, teaching, and finding practical ways to help people navigate life’s challenges. My background in both education and counseling gives me a unique perspective on the emotional, academic, and social pressures that children and adolescents face today. If you are looking for a therapist who will partner with your child, teen, family or you as parents with warmth, compassion, and practical guidance, I would be honored to support you and your child.
