My name is Val Jones and I am a clinical social worker. I specialize in trauma recovery using somatic (body-based) and narrative (storytelling) approaches. I work with individuals and families, both online and in-person. Whether you want to find your voice after trauma, reconnect with your body, heal from relationship wounds, or reimagine your story in new ways, I’m ready to meet you where you are with presence and care. I believe that the seeds of recovery lie within the stories we tell about ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences. As a narrative therapist, I work collaboratively with individuals and families to help re-write stories of pain, disconnection, or trauma into ones of resilience, strength, and meaning. In our first few sessions, I will guide you through breathing and/or gentle movement practices that encourage safety, creativity, and balance in the body as I invite you to share your own life story with me. Everything we do together is personalized to you and may incorporate movement, journaling, time in nature, or quiet reflection — all practices that honor the wisdom and rhythm of your unique healing process. In our work together, we’ll explore how life experiences — including trauma, oppression, and societal pressures — shape the ways you see yourself and others. I invite creativity, reflection, and collaboration in every session. Together, we can uncover and nurture the values, hopes, and strengths that will guide your story forward.
