My Personal Beliefs and Interests As a therapist, I understand what it’s like to be in the client’s chair. I know how terrifying therapy can be. I also know how soft therapy can be. I will encourage you to explore. I will keep it real. I will keep it light where it needs to be, and hold space where it’s dark. I will remind you that your journey and narrative are yours to mold. About My Clients My clients are usually one of the first in their families to do many things: The first to go to college, the first to be fluent in English, the first ones their parents call when they need help, the first to explore their gender/sexual orientation, the first to [consider] putting up boundaries, or simply the first to step foot in a therapist's office. My clients are brave and soft all at once. If any of this touched a soft spot in you, I'd be honored to hold space for you to explore more. My Background and Approach Growing up Asian in the Bay, I had the privilege of being "the majority" rather than "the minority." I was fortunate to have my first therapist, who reminded me of a "cool Asian aunt," and showed me care and compassion beyond a bowl of cut fruit. Years later, as a therapist myself, I strive to create that sense of safety for other Asian Americans seeking therapy. Whether you're stressed about a new chapter in your life outside your parent's home or struggling to improve and create friendships, your reasons for seeking therapy are valid. If you're feeling ready for this new kind of therapeutic relationship, I'd be honored to work with you.
