Wendy Kihiu, MA, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, author, speaker, and creator of Rethinking Parenting: Launching. She specializes in helping preteens, teens, young adults, and their families navigate the launch years—the transition from childhood to adulthood. Her work focuses on anxiety, emotional health, attachment, identity development, family relationships, increasing independence, and the challenges that arise as young people prepare for adulthood. Wendy's approach is warm, practical, trauma-aware, and deeply relational. She helps clients move beyond simply managing symptoms and toward understanding the deeper story beneath their struggles, strengthening relationships, and building lasting resilience. As a Christian, Wendy is happy to integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire a faith-centered approach to healing and growth. On a personal note, Wendy is married and the parent of two teenagers. Like many of the families she serves, she understands firsthand the joys, challenges, and growing pains that come with raising young people into adulthood. "Hope is being able to see the light despite the darkness."
