I was born in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States at age 9. I am fluent in Spanish and English. I hold a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University and a master's degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma. I have extensive experience in the healthcare industry as a medical social worker. My clinical background includes working with veterans, hospice patients, individuals undergoing physical, occupational, and speech therapy, trauma survivors, patients with debility, and those with new diagnoses. I have enjoyed being able to help families navigate these difficult times. I also have experience working with individuals in crisis as part of a Behavioral Health Specialist Team. My experiences have enhanced my ability to connect clients with local resources in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas. My experience and preferred therapeutic modalities include the strengths-based perspective, solution focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My culture is an important part of my life, and I look forward to being able to use this as a way to connect with individuals of similar cultures. I look forward to serving my community and working with individuals of all ages. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
