Introduction

I’m William Brown, LMHC, LPC, a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and Georgia, and the author of "Coming True: Seeking Truth in Self Later in Life." For years, I’ve worked with gay men wanting to find their true selves and live their best lives. Life throws challenges in relationships, sex, work, families, and overall self worth. Let's partner to unravel these challenges, look for their roots, and plan a new way forward. Whether you have immediate challenges (relationships exploding, substance challenges, deep depression or anxiety, processing significant trauma) or simply want to curate and simplify life to achieve greater peace, happiness, and contentment, reach out and ask for real help. I also offer highly specialized support for men who come out later in life, often after being married to a woman and having children. My work blends evidence-based therapy with a deep understanding of the emotional, relational, and cultural complexities of coming out in midlife. I’m not here to push you into decisions — I’m here to help you discover your truth, own it, and live it. How I Can Help? Areas we might work on together individually, in a group, or with a spouse: • Deciding if, when, and how to come out • Coping with fear, shame, or guilt • Navigating marriage, divorce, or separation • Talking with adult children or family members • Building a new social and dating life • Healing from internalized homophobia • Managing depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief • Strengthening self-worth and confidence
