Introduction

I love working together to identify some reasons as to why you feel the way you do. To me, therapy feels life completing the middle part of a puzzle. The edges/outline are there, and we have a good understanding of what the final picture is, but all the pieces aren’t connected yet. As we continue to work together, my hope is that we can connect more and more pieces together until you feel like you understand how to create meaningful change in the places that are causing you emotional distress. I tend to use cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients and spend a lot of time exploring the connections between the situations we are in, our thoughts and our feelings. I prefer to take a collaborative approach to therapy and enjoy getting to know who you are outside of the therapy space. I appreciate humor, sarcasm and an appropriately placed curse word while we are working together and strive to ensure that our time together gives you space to speak and behave in a way that feels authentic to you. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, and I have strong experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. I enjoy working with difficulties connected to chronic/terminal illness, grief and change of life difficulties (IE-retirement, moving to a new state, career changes). I also have experiencing working for companies that focus on treating the mental health difficulties that come with chronic or terminal illnesses and enjoy working with patients whose mental health is complicated by a physical illness. As a gay-identified psychologist I am committed to providing a safe therapy space for all people.
