Introduction

You may be used to pushing through, handling things on your own, or being the person others rely on. But stress, trauma, and difficult experiences don't always stay at work. I'm William Irving, LCMHCA, NCC, a Marine Corps veteran and retired law enforcement officer. I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, identity changes, and major life transitions, with a particular passion for veterans, first responders, men, and their families. My approach is practical, straightforward, and collaborative, drawing from CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and trauma-informed care. You don't need to have the right words or everything figured out before starting. At AfterAction Counseling, the idea is simple: debrief what happened, understand what's keeping you stuck, and determine what comes next.
