Introduction

Do you feel “always on”—juggling work, family, and expectations—yet still stuck in the same loops? You’re not broken; you’re overloaded. I’m Winifred Okafor, LCDC, CCS, NCC, ICADC, SAP, a licensed addiction & mental health counselor and DOT-Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). I help adults, families, and safety-sensitive professionals move from crisis and confusion to clarity and steady progress. What we’ll do together: first, we slow things down and make sense of what’s happening. Then we use evidence-based tools (CBT, DBT-informed skills, relapse-prevention, and practical habit change) to reduce anxiety, rebuild trust, and create routines that actually hold on busy days. You’ll leave sessions with clear next steps — not just “something to think about.” Special focus: addiction and recovery, anxiety/stress, burnout, family/relationship strain, and DOT SAP Return-to-Duty guidance from evaluation through follow-up. I also provide psychological immigration evaluations with trauma-informed care. Clients describe my style as steady, direct, and compassionate, equal parts accountability and grace. If you value professionalism with a human touch (and the occasional encouraging joke), you’ll feel at home here. Ready when you are. Appointments are available via secure telehealth or in-person.
