When I meet with clients for the first time I often ask them the question "How would you know counseling was working for you?" Commonly, the client will begin to discuss a different experience they would like to have in their life. This may be in a relationship, career stressors, a life transition, loss/grief or around overwhelming emotions like anxiety, depression, loneliness, guilt, shame or fear. Answering this question helps us to gain clarity about what you want to experience in your life and begin the process of bringing it to fruition. My mission is to best serve your needs and help you to move toward your vision for the future. In my work with individuals, couples and families, my approach is very experiential in nature. This means that in our time together we will work to create a shift in your experience and a tangible change to occur in your life. Clients reflect that the most rewarding part is the difference they experience in the way they feel, think and interact with others. I enjoy a counseling relationship where we maintain a high degree of integrity, communication and openness. I believe empathy and understanding are essential for healing and transformation. I also find that my ability to build trust with clients and challenge them is vital for growth and learning.
