Introduction

I am a bilingual Chinese-speaking licensed psychologist specializing in clinical health psychology, chronic pain, and trauma-focused therapy. I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with Fordham University, Pre-doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology with Stanford University, and Post-doctoral fellowship in Pain & Health Psychology at San Mateo Medical Center. I also serve as an Assistant Clinical HS professor at UCSF. Approaches I draw from include: Mindfulness-based approaches Sensorimotor Therapy Internal Family System (IFS) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) Somatic Experiencing Clinical Hypnosis for Chronic Pain Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Psychodynamic psychotherapy In sessions, I am authentic, warm, and genuinely caring. When we first begin working together, I help you understand what is happening in your mind and body through clear, compassionate psychoeducation. Understanding your symptoms often reduces fear and creates a sense of empowerment. I explain the rationale and evidence behind the approaches we use, so therapy feels transparent and collaborative. Your reactions are not signs of weakness or something being “all in your head,” but understandable nervous system adaptations to stress, pain, or trauma. With this understanding, therapy becomes less about fixing yourself and more about responding with greater agency, stability, and self-trust. In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide forensic psychological evaluations involving psychological trauma, including asylum and VAWA evaluations, conducted with clinical rigor, cultural sensitivity, and respect for each individual’s lived experience.
