Hola! I am Dra. Yajaira S. Curiel, licensed marriage and family therapist in CA. Over the course of my career I have been a therapist, professor, supervisor and mentor. I work with individuals, couples and families throughout the lifespan particularly Bipoc communities. I am deeply committed to working with first generation communities especially with couples who are navigating life cycle changes, and families with young children. This challenging time of a couple relationship, and my own experience has taught me that having a space to grow and connect with another is invaluable. I view therapy as a collaborative space rooted in social justice. My goal is to support you while actively challenging the societal structures that perpetuate inequality and marginalization. My approach is to integrate sociocultural and contextual factors such as race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity (to name a few) that impact a person’s lived experience and to understand how your family legacy informs who you are. I provide a space where you can be validated, held in your feelings and challenged to tap into your own resilience.
