You may find yourself stuck or in pain in your relationships—with yourself, with others, with the world, or with your past. The struggle may show up as loneliness, emptiness, or patterns in relationships that keep repeating despite your best efforts. It may also manifest as symptoms: anxiety, depression, panic, disordered eating, or a persistent sense of numbness. I strive to create trust in a warm, nonjudgmental atmosphere, working actively and collaboratively with you to understand your struggles, identify and remove the blocks that keep you stuck, and help you live your life with more agency, vitality, and connection. I draw on CBT, ISTDP, and attachment-based experiential approaches like AEDP and EFT, with training in trauma. Rather than applying one method to everyone, I blend insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, and emotion-focused work in ways that fit who you are and what you're working through—as your struggles are woven in your history and personality makeup. After years in university counseling at Harvard, Case Western, VCU, and Northwestern, I now work in private practice with adults in English and Mandarin, many in academia, tech, biotech, finance, healthcare, and law. Reaching out is rarely easy—especially when what's hurting is hard to name, or when holding it together is starting to wear thin. I'd welcome hearing from you.
