When human beings experience life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Hi, my name is Yvonne Roberto. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington. I obtained a Master of Science degree from Grand Canyon University-online and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Fayetteville State university in Fayetteville, North Carolina. My work begins with forging trust with you. The relationship we share is key and I believe that meaningful work can happen when trust is established. My approach involves building a strong therapist-client alliance. My goal is to offer a safe/therapeutic place where healing and discovery can take place. I strive with confidence to help those who suffer from stressful, overwhelming, traumatic experiences, as well as relationship issues, and other life difficulties. We will work through various issues that are most concerning to you. While gathering information, I hope to have meaningful conversations that will uplift and encourage you. In our sessions, we'll focus on the most critical and personal risks, but also build on strengths, talents, and abilities. Depending on your situation, I will incorporate a variety of theories/approaches, including elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered, strengths-based, and Motivational Interviewing. Unconditional Positive Regard is a concept from Humanistic Psychology introduced by Carl Rogers that means complete, nonjudgmental acceptance and support for a person. When people feel heard, cared for, supported, and embraced, they can succeed and begin to lead fulfilling and purpose-filled lives. I honor the chance to connect with you, help you overcome challenges, and celebrate the successes. This is the greatest reward of what I do and I would be honored to help you in this capacity.
