I specialize in supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, trauma, stress, cultural adjustment, and intimacy issues. Drawing from my experience growing up in China and my research into the impact of contextual factors on individual funtioning, I bring a unique perspective on how cultural, social, and familial systems shape our lives. By differentiating external factors from personal responsibility, we often discover that the burden individuals feel becomes less extensive or overwhelming. By releasing excess emotional baggage, we focus on core issues to foster a healthy mindset and develop flexible, effective strategies. I use a person-centered approach, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. While I also learn skills from other approaches, these four therapies are central in my practice. Inspired by ACT, I view psychological flexibility as a core outcome of therapy. I provide active listening in hopes that it helps you relax and gain insights. I'll support you in preparing and practicing coping strategies when needed. My ultimate goal is to create a safe space where we can embrace vulnerability and allow healing to occur.
