Introduction

Elizabeth Ledford (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She graduated with a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2018. Her experience has prepared her to work with LGBTQIA+ matters/support, religious deconstruction/change, navigating challenging relationships, crises, self-harm, suicide ideation, depression, anxiety, self-esteem/body image issues, grief, and more. Elizabeth enjoys working with young adults facing the unique challenges of adjusting to the demands and responsibilities of adulthood. She specifically has a heart for clients who are navigating and processing their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. She also loves supporting individuals who are working through religious trauma, concerns, or deconstruction. She has deep understanding and empathy for how difficult it can be to navigate personal growth through the lens of changing or leaving behind belief systems, cultures, and communities. Elizabeth's main area of expertise is in working with adolescent clients, and loves walking with teens through the unique challenges of their life stage. She sees the opportunity to work with anyone, and to help them grow, as a privilege. Elizabeth approaches therapy from a person-centered lens. That means she believes that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for personal growth. Person-centered therapy is humanistic, and focuses on genuineness, empathy, and acceptance. Elizabeth helps clients understand their values and make goals based out of those values. She values in being her authentic self and creating a place for you to be you! Elizabeth wants her office to be a safe space for you, even if everywhere else in the world feels scary. If you identify as different, weird, or even outcast, come join Elizabeth in a space where authenticity is always welcome! Elizabeth is excited to work with people from any and all walks of life, backgrounds, races, ethnicities, ages, faiths, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, abilities, and more! It is her honor to get to know you, your values, and your quirks! She hopes to work together to help you identify coping skills and goals in line with your values.
