As a mother myself, I understand firsthand both the hardships and triumphs of parenting. Days can be exhausting, yet incredibly rewarding. Watching your child struggle, especially when you’re also at a loss as a parent, is heart breaking. I know you want the best for your child and I am here to help! My role is to walk alongside your family, providing the support, tools, and guidance needed to foster healing, growth, and lasting connection. I am passionate about working with preschoolers who have difficulty managing their emotions, which often results in frequent calls from the school. It feels like your child’s behavior is spiraling out of control, even though you are present and spend quality time with them. Your child is so deeply loved! You’ve tried positive reinforcement, reward charts, and extra privileges, but nothing has made a lasting impact on their behavior. In your elementary or middle school-aged child, you have noticed perfectionistic tendencies, negative self-talk, or difficulties with peer relationships. You want your child to be able to stand up for themselves, form healthy friendships, and know what qualities to look for in a friend. As a parent, you have offered advice, talked with other parents and your pediatrician, done your own reading, and exhausted all available resources. You are now looking for expert, professional help. You may also have a child who is struggling with transitions between homes or adjusting to family changes. If you are separated or divorced and co-parenting has become difficult, I understand how hard that can be. I have extensive experience supporting children who feel caught in the middle. I also serve as an advocate across environments to ensure your child receives the care and consistency they need. My approach focuses on collaboration with parents and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I have seen countless times how transformative play can be in a child’s life. Unlike adults, children often don’t have the words to explain what they’re feeling inside. Through play, they can process experiences, express emotions, and work through challenges in a way that feels safe and natural. Depending on each child’s needs, I may also incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) strategies to help them learn new coping skills and understand their thoughts and behaviors. For older children who are more creative, sandtray and expressive arts can be a powerful modality to process stressors and build confidence. As a parent or caregiver, you will receive practical tools and insights to support your child’s emotional needs at home. Together, we work to reduce disruptive behaviors and create a more peaceful, connected family environment. Clinically, I hold a master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Texas, where I had the honor of studying under Dr. Garry Landreth, a pioneer in Child-Centered Play Therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baylor University. I have experience providing home-based therapy, school counseling, and trauma-focused therapy for women and children impacted by domestic violence. I have also supervised developing clinicians and provided community education for schools and churches. I am committed to maintaining the highest clinical standards through ongoing education and active membership in the Association for Play Therapy. Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, and spending time with my husband and son. I would be honored to support your child’s journey toward emotional well-being and help your family rediscover peace and joy at home. Contact me today to begin your family’s path toward healing.
