We didn’t need the research to know the truth, but more and more studies confirm that living within a marginalized identity has negative impacts on our overall well-being – mental health included! The reasons for this are complex and varied, often including overlapping systems of oppression from multiple marginalized identities. That’s why we aim to put first those who are often the last to be considered. We know there is a lot of stigma associated with seeking therapy. Maybe even you, dear reader, believe therapy is something to be ashamed of. We do not believe this at all. We believe attending therapy takes strength and courage and is a powerful act of self-care and self-love. Therapy can be a place of healing, a place to learn skills (like communication, assertiveness, emotional regulation, etc.), a place to share what is on your mind and heart with an objective, empathetic, and trained specialist – and so much more. We our honored you have chosen to seek therapy at our unique center. Sincerely,
